Consistency

Consistency or lack there of.. There seems to be a total disregard for consistency any more. There is nothing wrong with change, moving forward and not being stuck in the proverbial rut. There is however something to be said about consistency. If you are wondering why things do not "flow" like they used to, it is because everything as of late is in a constant state of flux. This is true with coding as well. "New and improved" is merely a catch phrase now and rarely is "improved" actually part of the equation. Speed, performance, fluidity, productivity, productivity and productivity all improve over time (remember these?). If you continuously have to keep changing, you will never increase performance. We now live in a world which is in a constant state of change and you can pretty much see that in everything we do. When was the last time you said to yourself, "Wow, that went great" or "Wow, that was easy" or "Now that was enjoyable"? The new age has brought about the mentality that things must change, possibly to simply prove self worth. (If it's not changing, it must need improvement!?!) This is not always the case! There is usually a reason why people like, purchase and use things. The more they use them, the more they like them and this goes back to the proficiency part. If you keep people in a constant state of change, chances are they will begin to dislike what they are doing. People like to feel comfortable about doing things, it is just human nature. It is a feeling of accomplishment. Possibly the new mentality is to keep people in a constant state of inadequacy. Keep'm guessing. Keep'm searching. Keep'm confused! Hmm, it might be time for another vacation... Time for a vacation
