Who can forget the classic fairy tales from our youth. Were they simply a composition of words to move a youngster closer to the edge of sleep? It is possible that they were created due to the fact that at the time there were no TV, IOT, BYOD or any of the other myriad of acronymic options available to them at their time. I believe they did not take shortcuts because they were actually looking for something to do to actually pass the time. Reaching deep within their soles to take them to another time, another place. A place that they totally controlled.... literally! A place which is hard to find even at the time you are reading this ditty. Many times these people were considered unstable, nonsensical or outright crazy. I personally think they were possibly prophets. While everyone else is looking at a beautiful painting, in the artists mind, through a specific use of colors and strokes, is actually telling the king to jump in a lake (and probably not in such kind words). Back in the day, speaking out could cost you your life. Secret meanings within artwork was a safe way to express frustrations and provide self satisfaction...known only to them. This includes lyricists, poets, artists, etc. It works in all mediums. Food for thought. Classic
