Java, a road less traveled.
Not in general, but in my case specifically.

Like a young newlywed couple wanting a 30 year old child, adoption was futile.
Not by choice but by necessity, I have begun coding in java. Luckily, unlike most spoken languages, it is syntactically similar enough to the other languages (which I have already spent numerous years learning), that it is not difficult to follow the path. At this point I will not say it is better than any other programming language but that may change. One of the key things about applications written in java was that they always seemed a bit sluggish. I may be wrong and it may have just been how the applications were written, but I guess I am doomed to find out.
