So my weekend started with a bang! Imagine my surprise when I woke up Friday morning and everything was offline. All of my sites were down. I noticed around 5am which meant that I only had 3 hours before going into work to get it resolved.
Struggling to determine what went wrong I finally decided to reach out to support.
The chat went fine and the rep said that they are doing everything they could to bring things online asap.
I mentioned that I was in IT and that I could relate and would be patient.
Friday ended on a positive note at work though. I finally figured out an issue I was working on in angular. As it turns out, it does matter where you paste your "divs" if you want them to actually process the model.. heh, a story for another datetime.
Saturday came and all sites were still down.
Understanding... but not oblivious, I contacted support via chat again. That resulted in another response that they were about 45% completed, so again I went into standby mode but also began searching for another provider.
Come Saturday evening the sites were finally reachable. There were some configuration and SSL issues I had to resolve to before they could be reached but finally I could get to them.
The Rub
It wasn't until later that Saturday evening that I finally had a chance to get caught up on emails.
Hidden amongst the long list of "shiz-mail" was the email stating that "your sites will be down for maintenance this weekend".
ugh.
So apologies if you tried to reach the site this weekend.
If I would have actually seen the email, I would have at least offered some for-warning.
TGIM!
