*new PiRider

The next venture in home automation is the equip my Rhoomba with a passenger. Similar to "Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy" I want my Rhoomba to have a nice little friend and also extend it's functionality. The Project 1. Add a pi mount to the rhoomba which holds a pi-zero and lithium battery pack. 2. Add a charging receptacle to the Rhoomba docking station so that when it is parked, the pi is also charged. 3. Add a solenoid which can start the Rhoomba on demand from a web page. In theory, the project should not be too difficult. Hardware pi-zero WH pinoir camera pi relay HAT Rhoomba Overview Pi affixed to Rhoomba using 3d printed mount. 3D printed receptacle on Rhoomba charging station accepts pi charging cord using magnet. Rhoomba can be launched by triggering the solenoid which presses the Rhoomba start button, or simply goes along for a ride when the Rhoomba is activated manually or by it's schedule. While docking, a magnetic coupelor will pull the pi charging cord into a special receptacle. As Rhoomba leaves the docking station, the monitoring program is activated, camera is enabled and takes pictures of it's journey. Utrasonic sensor, GPS, wifi signal or camera tracks and plots movement and plots Rhoomba course. (this might be tricky)
