Game Taxes
Everyone likes taxes, right? As mentioned in the challenges section, the taxes have been added and are working as expected.
Taxes come in different flavors and are hidden around the map. They are everywhere! Currently they are stationary but will be randomly placed on the map with randomly selected tax values in the near future.
If you by chance cross over a "tax trigger" in the game, a tax bill will drop down from the heavens.
To you keep yourself and finances in good standing, you can pay the price and the tax is immediately deducted from your bank.
If you are the daring sort, procrastinator by heart or just plain tired of paying taxes, you can ignore paying the tax by deferring it. This comes at a cost and it is substantial. Each tax has a set "pay now" fee and a non-payment "ignore" multiplier which is stored in the player's back taxes fund.
Either option will make the tax form disappear.
Ignoring the tax however does not mean that the tax is gone. Like in RL, that tax is tagged against you, the player!
If you view your player board at your desk in the IT department, you will notice at the bottom there is a running total of your "back taxes".
If by chance during the game you run into a tax collector, the taxes will immediately removed from your bank.
Immediately, even if it puts you in the negative numbers!
There are a few hidden jems which will provide you the chance of clearing all or part of your back taxes. This is a gold-mine find indeed.
If you do not have any back taxes then you will be gifted a grandiose reward for being an upstanding citizen!
One thing I thought was kind of cool with the Quest2 was the ability to take a photo during the game, share it to Facebook and then actually view it "in game".
I had done some api calls developing on Hololens2 but have not at this stage of the game, attempted any external calls.
