New Mobile Specific 12/31/2019 - Created a new mobile specific view to decrease real estate on mobile devices. This allows a single view over full view, with link bar on the top to open specific items.
Description:
While you can definitely connect and view the overwatch console on an android device using the devices browser, it will normally go to sleep after a few minutes.
Overwatch mobile was specifically designed to continuously display the Overwatch web console so that it can be used as a wall mounted or desktop console.
This should keep your image captures and wemo device management always available for the touch.
Instructions
Download and install the app apk from Google Playstore.
Open the application.
Click the Cfg button at the bottom of the screen to open the URL text box.
Enter the URL of your Overwatch home automation console page.
Click the save button to save the url to the local database.
Your console should open in the web view.
Authentication
Because the mobile application is extremely simple, it does not provide user authentication.
If, and only if, you are using a secure SSL connection (https) you can however add the username:password to your overwatch device within the url path.**
The path would look something like this:
https://mysername:mypassword@192.168.1.100/myoverwatchconsole.py***
**Please note that this is not the best way to accomplish this and considered insecure.
*** Also note, that while the ssl connection will encrypt the path, you are however leaving your credentials in the local database un-encrypted which could be exploited if your device is compromised.
When setting up your overwatch console, insure that this account (do not use the pi admin account) has extremely limited access to only the overwatch files, else your pi may be compromised.
