Hello World

Hello World

Quotable

What we’ve got here is
failure to communicate.

Some men you just can’t reach.
So you get what we had here last week,
which is the way he wants it;
well, he gets it.
I don’t like it any more than you men.

Player Challenge Updates

The buttons have been moved to the back of the glove for easier access. This makes more sense because grabbed items tended to get in the way. Because the hands are robotic and controlled via telepathic thought, there are not forearm issues. :)

Challenge Scoring

A New Device Ok, this took a bit of fortitude. In my head I really wanted to serialize my challenge data but I kept putting it off. Mostly because I was not sure how I wanted it to work, literally. This weekend I made the challenges available on a new Gametastic+ device, available from the player glove menu.

Player Features

Quite Handy
One thing that has been gnawing at me throughout the development of the game was some type of player wrist controller. I always liked this feature in other games which makes it much easier for the player to get to items with minimal effort.

Player Health

Originally the plan on health control was to simply decrease player wealth. This proved to be somewhat anticlimactic because you really did not notice when things were going wrong. If you had a lot of money it was almost unknown that you were hurtin'.

Get a Girlfriend Already

ruv u rong timeI can't help but think, when prompted by push-ware, of one of those obtrusive hookers from some worn-torn saga. Geeze, get a girlfriend if you are that lonely!
It starts out harmless enough.. pay a bit more and you will get something special... (and usually not worth the price). Nowadays it seems that this is more the norm than an add on.

Sigh..

Sometimes words are irrelevant

Game Repair

Fixed Tutorial TabletIf it ain't broke, don't fix it. If it is broke, well... There were a few things that were still in a "get around to it" status. As much as I hate to spend my entire 6 days of vacation working on code, I knew it had to be done.
